Anyone booked a ferry yet?

Best I've found, out Friday 14.45 and back Wednesday 15.00 is DFDS through A Ferry @ £74.00 ?


These are "token times" just to get an idea of cost, open to suggestions, earlier? later? and of course we'll need a Hotel (with a bar and more than two beer glasses )!

I'm looking at the same outward crossing (assume you are travelling to Calais rather than Dunkerque) but I may come back a day later and break the journey home from Nancy. Would stay possibly at Montreuil sur Mer.

It looks like I would get a better price via the Caravan Club.

Little difference in cost Calais/Dunkirk. Those times coming up at £78 for me so not much difference.

I do wonder if the 15:00 return crossing is a litte early and we'd be better going for 16:00 or 18:00?

Don't worry Mike, rooms are on hold at the hotel you stayed in before the 2010 Alps trip. You know the one, it had plenty of beer glasses and was the 3rd hotel Tom & Josh visited within 1 mile of the ferry terminal

Good point. If you go Calais the crossing is 1.5 hours and the time diff. - 1 hour so you arrive in Dover at 15.30. So it depends on how far you have to travel back home (or how early you can leave Nancy.....).

Purely a suggestion to "get the ball rolling"


Unless the Ferries are packed it's probably not a problem getting on an earlier one (think some of us did last year) but if you arrive late they may charge a surcharge for "missing your ferry" so, in theory, booking a later one would be better?
