I think this may be a question for LeeBee, I'm sure I 've seen Lee talk of this before?

Good evening, well in a word no you cannot do it as the top dash on an S2 is part of the body whereas the S3+ dash is one piece (including the dash top).I suppose you could do it if you took a large angle grinder to the car but I wouldn't recommend it!

Cheers

-why would you want to swap them?

The 'sweeping' design to sooo nice compared to the straight one

The problem with the S1/S2 dash is the tacho & speedo lights reflecting in the screen at night, but you can partially cure it by squeezing a cowl between the dashtop and instrument panel to shield the dials.
You still get reflections from the minor gauges though.

I took a slightly different approach with my S2 and put a small 'eyebrow' cowl over each dial, pressed in the gap between the bessel and the dash. Worked very well. V8S dashboard doesn't suffer from this problem, fortunately.

That is bloody sacrilidge, why oh why oh why as they say on points of view.
The beautiful flowing curves of the s2 cut out for the square eighties 'wham' look of the s3.
I know some men with white coats and they are on their way to you now!!

So you don't think it's a good idea then?

I have the ultimate solution.
Sell the S2 and buy an S3! They go for similar money so it would almost be a straight swap!
Please don't start cutting the S2 dashboard about, apart from the fact that no-one will want to buy the car after the modification, the early 'S' dashboard is too pretty.

Dave Wallis at Tower View has at long last resurrected the "I've got a 300 bhp 24 valve cosworth engine and it fits my S2" project and is going to fit an s3 dash into it. The car is in bits and he is a whizz with GRP so it might be worth talking to him. Details www.t-v-r-services.co.uk.
