About a 18 months ago, I was near Gt Yarmouth, on my way to Norfolk when a blue S (G plate)with the roof off went past me. Two chaps were inside. As I pulled into the petrol station, there it was right next to me. I remember thinking... "wow, a TVRRRRRR. One day, one day". Sure enough, a few months later and I had one, hoorah!
Question is, who was the owner of the S. He led me on the slippery slope!

I think it's how most of us fall for it - Not that that's a bad thing though!!

According to folklore, my TVR addiction started 22 years ago when I was just three. In my Grandma's barn at the back of her house, my Dad and my uncle Pete were tinkering with his race car - a 3000M with home-made turbo system installed (you thought intercooler sprays were from the Evo and Impreza era...? Nah, they had one rigged up from an Allegro windscreen washer pump and a 5 litre drum of Isopon filled with water in the passenger footwell going through a garden atomiser spray head...! Legendary...!). Now I don't remember much anything of this car other that what I was told and seen in photos, apart from the fact that it was red with a black roof, had t-slot wheels, side exit exhausts and it was mo'fo'kin loud, especially in the barn with the metal box flooring. They fired it up with a blip on the throttle and I allegedly shat myself and practically had as fit while simultaneously bursting into tears. Both my dad and uncle started laughing at me at which point I must have started to copy them (as you do when you're little) and began to laugh and cheer. Huzzah.

Aha...! Found a pic of said machine...! This pic is Pre-Turbo nutter installation and mean black roof. That's my Dad driving, Steve Cole in the Red Morgan Plus Eight behind him. To his right is Colin Blower in the 280 Tazzer and the blue Esprit back right is Andy Rouse. In case you didn't already realise, this is Redgate at Donington in, ooh, about 1980.

uncle pete wouldn't be Peter H would it? if so that explains the hosting of his in-car footage, excellent BTW.

In my dreams!

Although funnily enough, what with all the nephews and nieces I have around the place, I do tend to get called 'uncle Pete' an awful lot!
