Fuel Filter Connections
Discussion
Sorry, daft question but search is down and I need to be sure.
I replaced the fuel filter, but when I re-pressurised the system, the banjo connection from the pump (at the filter end) was leaking. I tightened it up a bit, and it seemed ok, but this morning the hose was wet with fuel again.
It looks like the original plastic pipe has split slightly. It's a push-on fit to the banjo joint and is leaking just behind the banjo tail.
Question is - can I cut off the plastic pipe and put a bit of 6mm fuel hose on with a couple of hose clips? Am I missing a pitfall?
I think, incidentally, that the reason it wouldn't seal is because my copper washers are old and may have hardened - I think I need to re-anneall a couple of washers before I re-fit, so that they "crush" and seal properly!
