Hi All,

Am I the only one whos starter motor gives up when it's hot, forcing me to push the car in gear to un-stick it?

I thought it was a fault with the starter but that's been changed now and it still does it. Not every time but it's a tad annoying.

Anyone tried using somthing to sheild it from the heat?, exhaust thermo wrap maybe?

Cheers,

Dave.

Us big boys that drive real TVRs have suffered this for some time. Cure is to use reflective heat wrap (aluminised cloth) around the starter. The Exhaust thermo wrap retains heat and doesn't do the job and is pretty expensive compared to the reflective stuff. I got mine from Rally Design for around a fiver.
