That's it for another year chaps. Took the s3 via poole/St malo on the seacat,overnight stop at rennes then on to le mans. Enjoyed 'cruising' down the mulsanne straight and indianapolis to arnage with full sound effects,on friday. Plenty of modern tivs but not so many not so modern/classic models around the camp sites - maybe we can redress the balance next year? Anyway my car ran faultlessly and kept it's cool with the new re-cored radiator. One question though,despite filling up to the top of the swirl tank initially plus topping up, the coolant level stabilises about halfway up the swirl tank having filled the expansion tank at least halfway up,is this ok?

Just a thought!....have you got the pressure cap on the swirl pot,(the one with the spring) because that's where it should be. you will eject water from the overflow if you don't.

yup already checked that,could it be a faulty pressure cap or maybe there isn't a problem at all??
