Cheers for the Info I will have to contact them and find out how they got on.
i am currently at the stage of fitting some modified S2 exhaust manifolds to the engine which I have in place in the engine bay, amazingly good fit with clearance all round and no need for bulkhead mods, bolts straight onto existing engine mounts and standard gearbox, although the engine wiring loom
may prove to be a fun installation!.
Both myself and Ian Harland (was helpline contact in Sprint a year or so ago)looked at the Cosworth 24V transplant but after measuring everything up it was a very tight squeeze (needed mods to the bulkhead etc) also the 24V is around 8" taller than the 2.9i and 2.8i, I have a V8S bonnet fitted to my car which is a lot taller and I don't think this will even clear it.Tower view do however have an engine for sale and you may be able to mod the car to fit it, theirs I believe is just sat in a bare chassis and has got no further (busy people!).I am now looking at transplating an American V6 into mine which will either be twin turbocharged or a different normally asperated engine (the turbo is around 335bhp standard and can be tuned to crazy levels!).One thing to remember though is that the 24V has a lot of special electronic modules and sensors which are very expensive if not supplied with an engine purchase (get the loom too!), a bare head is £1500 so be warned!

The engine is actually bolted onto the gearbox, and the engine mounts and only requires a slight modification to the N/S mount to provide a minimum of 20mm clearance at the tightest location.
I actually bought the whole car so the loom is not a problem, although I am trying to locate a set of cams and an MBE ecu that were used on this engine in a now defunct Prosport 3000?, racing series and without any other mods made
a peak of 300bhp.
From the base of the block on the 2.8 S1 engine to the top of the plenum chamber it is only 2" taller on the Cosworth 24v so the V8S bonnet should cover it without any problems hopefully.
When you say that you are thinking of installing an American V6 would this be the 90 degree Cheverolet V6 4.3l as this is essentialy a smallblock 350 V8
with two pots chopped off and is a very
strong engine (In turbocharged form in the GMC Syclone they have been known to make upto 900bhp!).
If this is the engine that you were thinking of I would be interested to find out how you get on, if not I would
be interested to know which engine you had in mind.
Sounds interesting, when we measured it up we had around 5mm clearance but we could have been wrong. If you have all of it in a donor car then go for it! (if you drop it in the chassis then you are about as far forward as Tower View!) is it an auto box?.Yes it is the syclone engine but in reality I think 900+BHP may be a little excessive! (was thinking of standard spec 300+BHP) I would also like to know how you get on with the 24V
Cheers

P.S V8S bonnet needs a lot of adjustment but does fit!

The engine is now only waiting for a set of modified S2 exhaust manifolds and the loom and ECU to be installed,
never sounds like much when you say it quickly!.
I am not using the auto, but instead using the Ford 5speed that was in the car when i got it as it bolts straight up to the 24V and takes the same flywheel and clutch assembly.
The 4.3l V6 is a good idea and I have a lot of information on it if you get stuck.
Also do you know that you can buy a complete cut out 4.3 V6 from Real Steel as a mock up to work around until you manage to source a Syclone/Typhoon engine for about £300.
I don't know what type of box you were thinking of using but as the engine you are looking at has the same bellhousing
pattern as the smallblock chevy, adapters are available to install the BW T5 as used in current TVR's or the Toyota 5 speed as used in the Supra.
Hope that some of this info may be of use to you.
