I am considering having a new roof on my S3...

I was wondering if anyone has had it done, and what are the costs?

The second problem is a little more frustrating. Where the bonnet meets the main body, the passenger door, and where the roof meets the body there are scuffs which have taken off the paint. Is there any way to deal with these other than a re-spray? Also, there is a very tiny (2cm) crack on the body, near to the boot. Should I worry about this?

Today was a wonderful day for driving the S. I had a good friend with me who drives a Porsche Cayman, although his car is significantly more expensive he was bemoaning the fact that everyone notices the TVR and no-one really takes a second glance at the Porsche. Funny world.

Thanks

When you say new roof you mean the hood material? This is on my list and spotted kits on ebay for around £350, for the hood and targa panel material. DIY fitting. They quote £300 fitting, how hard can it be? Very Top Gear statement I know!
A crack eh? Depends if it is just the crazing of the paint or something deeper? Can you get to the back of where it is cracked? More than likely its the first alternative and it is a stress crack in the paint, but worth checking.

I can get to the back, I will have a look. The more I look/clean the car the more slight imperfections I find. Stone chips on the front are the biggest gripe, I think I will DIY them.

As for the roof material, I will post a photo later to help explain myself a little better.

Thanks

This is where the roof meets the body of the car. It looks rough when the roof is down. Am I missing something? Trim?

Thanks

That looks like where I have a strip of velcro that holds the hood down, just behind the door aperture.
Yes it looks a bit rough, maybe some one will be along to offer ideas to smarten it up.
