I have at last bought my S3 after months of searching, and many hundreds of miles there she was in the valleys of S.Wales and I am picking her up on Monday morning !
I have a superb Insurance quote through A.Manning, speak to Neil Henderson he is good, but they are not in the office today and I will not be able to give them my payment details untill i am actually travelling down to Wales from London on Monday a.m , Question is how will they want details of the cars mileage, new mot ? or will they take my word ? any advice much appreciated.

I am also with Manning. They did not ask for any proof of mileage - I am limited to 5000 per year.
Incidentally - after two months I still have no insurance certificate and they have just issued another 2 month cover note - I don't suppose this is a problem though.

You have to be honest, as if it ever came to a claim, then the truth would come out.

Every year you should have to give them your new mileage, so it's not worth trying to go over the agreed limited miles as they wont honour your cover should you go over this mileage without informing them (and most likely making a mid term payment to stay covered). And if someone involved in an accident was injured you could then find yourself in a very sticky position if personal injury claims were being made against you.

You could hypathetically run two speedos, although I never said that

Rower,

Don't shout. You should be ok. Most Ins Companies issue cover notes based on the phone call / credit card payment and then send through the forms to fill in. You will usually be asked to confirm mileage, although I don't remember Mannings asking for mine.

Good Luck,
JSG.

Can't speak for Mannings but in the Classic Line submission form they ask you to state the current mileage.

They never asked me on renewal... and I did under my limit last year so in theory I can do those as extra this year as long as the total of the two years insurance doesn't go over 6k....

Guy.

Glad to see it was 100% grin, quite sad seeing and hearing the car drive off into the distance. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. The task of finding my replacement is now on. Will let you know when I have purchased one.

Well done Guy, I remember when I first got mine I couldn't take my eyes off the temp & pressure gauges! Still a laugh, though. Things only get better!!!!

Steve, happy hunting......

Guy welcome to the home of the second childhood, these car's seem to attract two distinct types of owner, pre or post children
Enjoy.

Welcome to the addiction Guy. Remember you are not old if you drive a TVR you are envied.

My son still takes new girlfriends in the garage to show them his old mans TVR(at least thats the ploy)
