Help cannot get in Boot
Discussion
The emergency boot opening question is probably one that we've all asked at some point in our "S" ownerships - me included. My vote would be for it to be open knowledge and to ditch the current paranoia.
Is the average car-thief thug really going to read this ultra-specialised forum and then search out an S series - and then have the patience and dexterity to (and I'll be careful here!) use the necessary tool in the correct location to gain access to the boot - I,ve done it a couple of times and it's a 10 minute job.
My guess is that a chisel under the boot lip would gain entry within a few seconds and give the moron in question the added satisfaction of inflicting damage as well as theft.
Has anyone on this forum ever suffered a loss as a result of any form of forced boot entry - my guess would be no. As long as a hood can be ripped open with a knife I suspect boots will remain secure...
