Hi all
Well no luck with search so here goes
Three years ago I replaced the oil sender on my S2, first I purchaced one off ebay like this
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370565950654?ssPageName=STRK:ME... but this didn't work as it had two terminal posts like the one in the link above and no matter how I connected it I could not get a reading so I purchased one off TVR Car Parts that came as per the original with one terminal and has worked fine until today it decided to pack up so my question is where is the best place to purchase a replacement?
Thanks in advance
Paul

Can't understand why the two terminal one didn't work as long as you had the right terminal earthed?
Anyway, I bought a single terminal unit from Ebay some time ago, there are a few on there if you scroll through....
this one
or this one (bit expensive)
maybe this one
Or go to one of the TVR specialists again

Thanks for the reply, I did earth the twin terminal unit but had no luck at all.
I will take a look at the eBay ones but just in case who if anyone has taken over TVR Car parts?

Hi Paul,
I had very low oil pressure readings, so I bought the two-terminal sender for under £15 inc p&p off ebay, in April.
Had to make up an earth wire to adjacent chassis earth point, and it all worked fine.
Now reads 60psi @3000rpm hot, 25psi hot idle.
Are you sure you have a proper earth connection to the second terminal, and is your original sender wire in good condition, ie not corroded?
Mine had a bit of verdegris on the strands, so I cut the wire back a bit to nice clean copper & crimped a new terminal end on it. ( Make sure you have enough cable length before cutting! )
Hope I'm not trying to teach how to suck eggs, just wanna help.

Yes feed wire is good as did re crimp a new terminal onto the wire.
The Sender from ebay only had the one terminal as per my original unit so uses the engine as the earth once screwed into place.
Another S owner informed me that he too had a similar problem to me and it turned out to be a resistance issue, some start with a low resistance and some start with a high resistance.
I still have a two terminal sender I purchased some time back but that one didn't register at all, I connected a decent earth to it but still no luck.
The ones David sell are specially made.
