Wing mirrors stolen...!
Discussion
Bit of an odd one here guys. I've just got back from work and noticed that someone has stolen the wing mirrors of my S2!
The rest of the car hasn't been touched, so I don't think it's vandals. It seems they have specifically target the wing mirrors and even seemed to know they pop off on a ball joint.
Can anyone think why anyone would bother to steal the wing mirrors? As far as I can recall, they're off a Citroen CX so hardly a rare or prestigious car part.
It's more annoying than anything and it does concern me that it's parked up a drive and somebody obviously knew what they were looking for....
So, that aside; anybody know where I can get another pair. A quick look on eBay reveals little. Maybe they are rare....

Sorry Beaver king, I can't advise where to get some replacements, but I have the same type, and as they are practically no use (don't tilt backwards enough for me) I eventually intend changing them for something that can show me a rear view!
PS. Just checked to make sure you didn't live in my part of the world!!!!

You'd be surprised. Three years ago a grossly inattentive driver almost rear ended my parked V8S. Fortunately they managed a last minute swerve and only took off the drivers door mirror.
Tracking down a replacement proved both difficult and expensive, being electric.
Andrew Brodie engineering (Willesden, London) were very helpful

Oh yes they are
Good luck with tracking down some replacements. I think they were used on the Jaguar 220, so not quite as common as muck. They don't fit much else so it narrow's the list of scumbags down to Citroen and sadly, TVR S, Griff & Chim owners I'm afriad, plus of course the odd pikie with a 220.
Time to look for alternatives to the CX ones maybe? I was looking at the ones on a Z4 the other day and wondering if they'd fit. Related thread.

This might help:

For the links - I'm not insinuating that Jazman found some unattended mirrors...

Norman, keep an eye out for Joe calling round for a coffee!

Knowing how friendly the TVR clan are, Im really disgusted with the thought of one of us doing it to our own. If it is, may the prick hang his head in shame and be excommunicated. Hopefully one of us on the S site can restore the position and find a pair and keep the TVR community, what it always has been - a supporting family that takes care of its own. Appalled.

Also used on the early DB7's...sorry useless fact!
Also the circa 1995 AC Brooklands AceBUT are they 'rabits ears'??? they certainly appear so from the profile photograph, in which case they are not CX
4,5 are Citreon CX!!
Will post some photos of the Z4 mirrors later but I doubt they will fit. Even if they do, as with everything BMW, they are expensive at £150 ish each on flea bay

Gez - that sucks. I doubt it's another TVR owner though, much more likely a "karate kid" wanabee...
If you do find some god replcements, post it up if you wouldn't mind. I'm looking to replace my stock ones with something less "droopy" and with more rear visibility so may well follow your lead..
