The following is a bit of a wish list.

Chassis work carried out.

Budget around £6,000

Kind Regards

Don't let higher mileage put you off. These cars are often better if regularly used, 70k miles isn't really that much considering the age of the S3 and what has been done or how the car has been looked after is more important than how many miles it's travelled wink

Echo that Mines done 167K and I have the engine stripped at the moment for head gasket issues and sump change (due to dent). Decided to overhaul whole thing while taking it out but on stripping it found there is very little wear anywhere bar a just perceptible lip on the cylinders. A mechanic who was round looked at it and was surprised at the mileage, don't forget the 2.9 engine was fitted to much heavier cars as standard and I know of many taxi granadas that did well over 500K without issues.

Thanks to everybody for the suggestions. My fear regarding cars with 100k,is trying to sell them in a few years time.
One of the problems i have is my knowledge of cars is very limited and therefore relying on the help of kind hearted chaps like you lot.

There is a couple of cars on the classifieds which are a long way from where i live in Lancashire. For me not a problem, but to ask a TVR mate to give up his day of may be asking a bit much.
Which leads to my next question. Does anybody know the following cars which are on the classified.
S3 RED 74,6000
S3 SILVER 30,000.
Simon,I have sent you an email requesting some details.

My sincere thanks
Alan

Chris took me around Scotland in this car last year and I followed him around Belgium this year. It’s a lovely car. What ever he wants for it, just give it to him. You won’t be disappointed.
