Well I'm in the garage on Saturday so I'm not too fussed - but I hope for you that you wont need the roof up

Well done for finding one, you wont regret it. You find that your face suddenly is able to put on a new grin that it's never done before.

Cheers,

Dave.

without doing my undercover secretive stuff, its a private sale and will give you all the info once the keys are in my exceedingly sweaty mitts!

to say I am looking forward to saturday is an understatement!!!

only bummer is I am abroad as of next weekend for a few weeks! how much do I not want to go away!

PS - will get some picture up when I have some idea on how the hell the IT side of it works!

Excellent news shnozz, can't wait to hear the details and more importantly see the car. Did your man find it or did you find it yourself? email me off line if you don't want to discuss it in the open yet.
I'm almost as excited as you about . But then again I don't suppose I could be , always nice to have a 'new' car regardless of type, colour or creed!

Everyones prophecies of finding a car eventually came true at last! Enjoy the blast me old!!

As for the weather, it is hot and sunny in Marrakech! Top tip, never bring a TVR to Morocco; their driving makes the Tuscan Challenge look like a trip to the supermarket. Wacky races eat your heart out.

See you at the next s meet if I am in the country.

Cheers for now, chin up

Shnozz,

did I speak to you about the car in question? (I bought Alison's) If so, I'm sure you're going to love it.

No post's yet shnozz, hope you got the car all right, did you get the email about tomorrow? Look forward to seeing the new toy when it hits the streets.

Harry

PS you're probably still in the garage at the mo looking and thinking 'its all mine'; been there done that and still do

Qualia - dont think it is the same. well done on Alison's - I was sorely tempted but by the time I had got my act togther it was spoken for!

Pleased to report baby is safe at home and a lovely drive home from the Midlands to Southampton in a mixture of mainly cloud and sunshine. When i arrived in the South the weather turned to clear skys. Thank you for that one!

She is a dark grey 91 H S3 with 62k and very good condition. She has a few little blemishes but as she will be used everyday I am not too worried by these. She drives lovely and now geeting re-adjusted to non-power steering!

Only concerns I have are ground clearance. I knew they were low but I ground her clearing a speed hump in the services on the way home. I crawled over the bump at snails pace. Literally had to apply more gas/less clutch to climb up the hump and still scraped her. Any tips on this? (apart from to avoid as best possible)

Harry - have e-mailed you

OOooh dont go near speed bumps !!

They are a scurge, second only to speed cameras.

Ive got new shocks & springs and therefore slightly higher ride height, still possible to catch some of them. Take my advice an avoid them like the plague.

Have fun

Dark grey? great colour

If you just keep it fixed in your mind that the exhaust costs around £400 - you'll always miss the speed bumps

Enjoy the car.

i guess there is no "try driving at them at 45 degrees" answers then! Its just, if you see one, reverse!

oh well. I will add it to the list of "they all do that sir" points!

PS - p*ssing weather! got to sort a car cover out before tonight now

PPS - Dave H - it is virtually identical to yours, even down to the v shiney OZ wheels! only difference is its grey leather with navy carpets, yours looks cream

The only thing you can do really to combat the bumps is raise the ride height if you've got adjustable dampers?

I had to raise mine by about half an inch as my place of work has bumps and I kept grounding out.

My OZ's arnt looking that shiny anymore, the pic was taken a year ago when I first got the car. One job this year is to get them re polished.

Cheers,

Dave.

Shnozz, I have a weather proof cover that came with the car, you can borrow it until you're sorted, mine is safe in the garage drying off from this afternoons jaunt

Harry - I am away for a couple of weeks and it would be great if I could borrow a cover to stick over the car then?

do you use it at all if your baby is garaged?

PS - getting more confident and hit the dual carriageways around segensworth last night. I now can relate to those with that "grin" factor. You just cant help smiling like a cheshire!

Nice one Phil, at last!

There is a speed hump at my daughters school which I ground out on, and in fact the 45 degree trick works every time.
I look forward to the first blast!
