Fanbelt (Alternator Belt) S1 (2.8)
Discussion
Hmmm, does the search function ever work? Never seems live when I need/want it..
I just fitted my kenlowe kit to the S1 and now it cools properly when I want it to (which is nice LOL)
Unfortunately I also found the alternator belt is badly frayed and just about to give up the ghost. Am i right in assuming it's just the same as a Capri/Granada 2.8 one (which will probably be easier to source)?
Any thoughts on the best place to get one reasonably quickly?

Thanks - tried that, it seems to be keyed to the 2.9 rather than the 2.8 - or certainly that's how it seems.
Really, I just need the size I guess, I'll pop mine off and measure it tomorrow and try the local factors.
I believe the 2.9 is a 10 (or 13) by 1200. I think the 2.8 may be a 10 by 975 but I'm not 100% certain at this stage.
Measuring it is the best bet no doubt... I was just looking for a easy answer (i.e. being lazy) LOL

Thanks Glen that's great. I'll make sure I do the same.
I was a bit concerned when read this post: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=832...
But if it worked on your 2.8 it should work on mine too - theoretically LOL

Hi again, just read that thread with interest.
I certainly have had no issues in the 2000 miles covered since fitting my belt.
Perhaps the TVR manufactured alt mtg bracket varies depending on whether it was knocked up by Nobby or Stan on a Mon morning or last thing on a Friday.
Mine is very sustantial, looks like it was nicked from a locomotive.
Best check how much adjustment you have on yours & measure the old belt.
They're all different, these babies!
