S1 fuel pump

Has anyone got the part no for a fuel pump for a S1,
on the parts list that came with the car its Lucas FDB702
but this is a old list is this the right one.
mine makes a lot of noise and don't prime when you switch
it on, like to get it done before Spa if i can.

Different injection system to later cars so may be a different pump but any good motor factor should be able to cross reference that part number to their chosen supplier?

think I'd definitely look to be getting it done before Spa !

Have taken it off today, and it is a bosh pump it has a filter between
the tank and the pump is this ok or will it restrict the flow of petrol
advice please

You ideally need some advice from an S1 owner, but, on the 2.9 engined cars its a big 16mm pipe from tank to pump and no filter. the filter is on the high pressure side after the pump, a big alluminiun can thing.

Yes i have got that one up in the engine bay
so i think i will cut it out and fit new pump,
still got 7 days loads of time

If you have the 2.8 engine you should have a bosche pump as fitted to the 2.8 Capri and I assume the XR4i/Xr4x4. I did fit one from a XR3i once to a capri but the inlet bore is much smaller and so there was some serious pipe fettling to make it fit. Interestingly, I saw no drop of in performance with the reduced bore. I think the boshe pump range was common across the K-Jetronic fuel injection system at the time so I'd guess VW's, Volvo's etc would have the same range fitted ?

Hi!

I changed fuel pump on my s3c last year.
Got a non bosch one for 50-60€ from "Biltema" here in Sweden
We had to modify the connections with new hose and nipple, found those parts in a pneomatic specialist store for 10-15€
Bosch original part is almost 300€...

Thanks it was a bosh pump, have ordered new one today and a new filter
for the back,i was advised by the suppler to put it back on
should be about two days.
still cant move the tick over screw so it will have to be a bit fast
for now.all going well should be back on the road at the weekend
