he couldn't do the MOT!

After booking it for a week, got down the MOT centre to find he couldn't get the jack under the car, so he couldn't do the MOT. Anyone else had the problem? mark

It's called lazymechanicitus!
All he had to do was drive the car up onto blocks of wood with the front wheels, and the jack fits underneath. I'd find another mechanic if I were you, this one sounds like a bit of a t1t.

This MOT tester hasn't got a pit or lift? That sounds a bit crap.

I would also find somewhere else.

If me a total ignoramus when it comes to mechanics can manage to get my Maserati on axle stands and all wheels off her in 30 mins when you she has nearly no ground clearance at all i'm sure a mechanic should have been able to do your mot

Yes, I've had exactly the same problem with my S1 at two different garages, so I went back to the MOT station that did the test for the previous owner - no problem there although he did ease it onto the ramps with a trolley jack..
