Chaps,
I need your help again. I'm nearly done putting the car back together again but I've got a few bits left over. I should have taken more pictures ! Anyway I have two mystery brackets, they may be related to the dash but since the car has been retrimmed, I can't see where existing holes are :

The other mystery is two holes in the LH bulkhead which obviously had bolts in them. It's not the wiper motor, carpet flap, alarm or inertia switch. The fusebox is bolted onto another hole although I may have put it in the wrong place. The picture is during strip down but I don't have one of the footwell where I can see where they go. Any ideas ?

Thanks again.

I think they hold the bracket for the Air Flow Meter aswell? :-)I need your help again.

I think Steve wrote the manual with what was available at the time - so its based on wedge diagrams I think. I have a griff / chim manual I'll try to remember to have a look whats in that tonight - early griff diagrams might be a bit closer - but as they only made 400 or so of the V8S don't hold your breath!
You’re all correct. The bolts extending down into the area behind the dash are for the metal bracket which holds the fuse box. There should also be a couple of holes for the AFM bracket. Which is which should be obvious once you put the AFM in place.
As regards the fuse box bracket; I found this got in the way of much of the loom and made it very difficult to tuck the wiring and the ECU away tidily. Here is my solution.

AFM - of course ! I don't have that any more so I'll just use the mounting holes for the fuse box. I remember the sliding ECU mounting, very neat. I don't think I'll need that as I've gone down the Meqasquirt route and was planning in the longer term a short radio link from the diagnostic port to my laptop. In the meantime, I'll mount a bulkhead DB9 port in the glovebox so I can connect to it without ripping everything out.
