Hi,

Can someone help - I'm suffering from amnesia. Where are the seat belt mountings ? I know the inertia reel is mounted against the back of the footwell and through onto the plate in the wheel arch, and the belt is threaded through at the top of the post behind the seat. Where does the other bolt go ?

Into a threaded bracket that's welded on top of the outrigger, poke around the carpet you should find the hole .

Thanks philpot, found it ! Unfortunately my roll bar is in the way of the intertia reel so I'll either need to make a small bracket up, or just use harnesses.

Not a good day today - I managed to get the engine started, but as soon as it fired I heard a loud 'whine', bit like a supercharger. No idea what it is but I hope nothing serious ! I rolled it back in the garage and will need to think about what to do next.

Try starting (briefly) without fan belt, eliminate water pump or alternator?

I'm sure nobody (whistle) would ever do this but is fan belt in the correct groove on the crank pulley?

Could be that - I took the belt off and spun them by hand and they seemed OK. Maybe they only whine under a lateral load from the belt though. I'll try this tomorrow, I'm just about to tuck into a G&T

Hey Mike, no you didn't say - Congratulations ! That people carrier is calling wink Things going well here, work was looking shakey for a while but I *think* I'm OK now. Once I get this thing on the road, I'll be looking for an excuse for a run-out. Maybe meet up then ?
