I introduce my shelf - RHD to LHD conversión for S1
Discussion
Hi,
My name is Carlos and I live in Spain (Madrid)
Many years ago I lived in Liverpool and since them I'm a great fan of TVRs, I love the Griffith.
The thing is that I have the opportunity to buy a TVR S1 that it's registered in Spain, but the car is a RHD and I think I will need to get some chassis issues sorted out so I'm thinking on doing a frame off chassis restoration.
I was wondering if would be possible to do a LHD conversion in the process and my questions are as follows:
Can I used any other different car steering sack and parts (maybe one from a Ford, etc.) I'm not sure is these parts were made exclusive for the S! or maybe they used part from other cars.
Do you think I will need any mods to the body, frame?
Thank you very much for all the advise
Carlos

Hi Carlos
there have been a number of conversions from RHD to LHD and the one I think is pretty well documented is Olav's... he hasn't been on here for a while and i'm not sure he still has his car but he would be very helpful to you I am sure if you make contact with him
His website is in the useful links wiki and here:

good luck if you decide to buy... I'm sure you will not be disappointed in your choice of TVR

The rack is a modified vauxhall (Opel) chevette (Kadett) so if you can find one it may be possible to get a LHD rack built.
There is also a chevrolet chevette which I think is similar and even has PAS racks - but that is also an old car now. It is not a simple bolt on solution - it will need some machining.
