HI i need to upgrade my headlights on my S3C now the bonnet is on has anyone tried these from minispares and 15% off

Look like the ones I bought from a Land Rover specialist on Ebay back in September for the Taimar (paid around the pre-discount price).
Having said all that I've not driven the car in the dark very much so can't comment a lot on how good they are other than do seem better than the "standard" Wipac units they replaced but should be as the reflectors were starting to corrode.
Got a pair of Osram Nightbreaker bulbs to go in when I get round to it

I fitted a set to my V8S and to Longers car, difference was noticeable on my car, I guess I'd better let Longers answer himself.
Note they are much more expensive on other websites (including where I bought Longers lights before I discovered minispares) but don't be fooled they are ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL.

Also they look really good with the clear front lens.

Only driven in the dark once since fitted (which was this week actually!) but absolutely delighted with difference, well worth doing

especially with my clear side repeaters. I keep thinking some clear front indicators will finish things off nicely but cannot bear to part with the originals!

If a Lotus owner can contribute, briefly, I fitted these to my Excel a little while ago - huge improvement over the old rusty reflectors it used to have (even when they weren't rusty). With some decent bulbs in, the reflections from road signs on main beam can dazzle me now. Dipped beam is also much better - the beam seems to throw forward a bit further even though the pattern is aligned perfectly with the original setup.

I got a set from Stafford Vehicle Components, but last time I checked they had stopped selling them. SVC offered two assembles that looked similar but were significantly different in price, from the way the salesmen described them I got the impression that one was an imitation of the other.

Of course I could be completely wrong but heard somewhere the dearer ones are glass lenses, the others polycarbonate is it ? (plastic)

I'm sure they will be fine and if its the clear lens you are after then they will look good too. I opted for the Quadoptics as also advertised on this site here

I wanted a more traditional look that these gave but with improved performance so I fitted Halfrauds 90% extreme brilliance bulbs (BOGOF at £19.00) and can say that the difference from the old bowls was massive as you would expect.

It would be interesting to see a side by side comparison between these new alternatives as I guess everyone will have seen an improvement over their old setup.

I have got similar freeform lights but with the glass fronts. Huge improvement on the originals. Also fitted SMD 501 sidelight bulbs which are very white and very bright, good for daylight running on dull days. Available for a few quid on ebay.
