I have taken out the seats and discovered that the floor around the runner bolthole has enlarged somewhat (4inches round) There appears to be black foam between the fibreglass sandwich what is it? Will it be Ok to just re- glass the holes with fibreglass matting.

If you do a really good job, it will be almost as strong as the original. The bad news is, it wasn't very strong in the first place. This would be the ideal time to get a Tower View seat bracing kit so you can secure the seat to the chassis.

So the bolt holes for your seat are the least or your worries .
