Goes faster in the dark

this is a good one.

Goes faster at night... Well not quite but with the head lights on the speedo over reads proportionally with the road speed? For example at 70 I turn on lights speedo shows 90! it's ok with just side lights.

Any ideas? I am thinking current bleed from the lighting circuit probably in or around the fuse box but isn't the feed mechanical?

Or is it a speedo fault? (I do like the replacement with LCD trip meter) just not sure this would cure it and dash out urgh.

Could just live with it.. Hmmm

Live with - it's a TVR. Possibly a dodgy earth somewhere if you're desperate to look for something to do

It's electrical so bound to be the yellow connector

I agree probably an earth, on mine if you turn the panel lights off and press the footbrake the headlights come on????? how does that work??

As soon as the radiator cooling fan kicks in my speedo jumps +40mph also at night with the lights on or wipers or heater fan it does the same, cleaned all the earths I could find but still does it so now use the sat nav speedo app on my iphone when I go out.
