SV8S Brake pipe kit

Hi All,

Not touched the V8 rebuild for a few months,(had a bit of trouble with my own 'pump' running conditions) have most parts back in the chassis now but time to tackle the brake lines etc.
Does anyone supply a ready to go kit? or do I have to 'bugger about' making my own stuff up?
I know a few have gone metric?

I can make you a set if you want. Either all metric or sticking with the imperial connectors at the rear inboard end of the trailing arms - everything else is metric anyway its just the T piece near the prop and the inboard ends at the rear thats imperial.

I made my own pipes up. You do need a 'quality' flaring tool though. It's not as daunting as it sounds, just take your time. Measure the old pipe then measure it again (don't forget to allow for the flare. I kept to the imperial/metric setup as I couldn't source a full set of rubber brake pipes so ended up using braided hoses. (Part number TTV0912-8p, if I can read my writing!)

I have a the flareing tool so I guess I just need to get back into it! What tube does everyone think best to use? copper or more exotic?

Is that the part number for all of them? Where did you get them?

The part number is for all eight of the flexible pipes. I bought mine from Steveson Motors. The unions etc came from brakes International.

I used standard copper pipes as I already had some.

When I bought some 260mm discs calipers etc from s Chimaera to "upgrade" my brakes they came complete with some nice long Goodridge hoses that go from chassis to caliper without that fiddley little pipe on the hub carrier. Much neater and simpler (imho)

Goodridge should be able to make up a fully metric set now shouldn't they Chris?
