v6 distributor o-ring leak

Take the dizzy cap off - get the timing marks lined up on the crank - mark the position of the rotor arm in the dizzy before you remove it.
Mark the position on the dizzy body in the block.
Don't turn the engine while the dizzy is out.
Also check the engine crankcase breather - if its blocked or choked it could be pushing oil out due to crankcase pressure.
When you put the dizzy back in I assume its driven by a bezel gear like the V8 - so when you push it back in the rotor arm will turn as you push it back in.
Take a few photos of the positions of it all.
I've probably made it sound harder than it is!

The significant point here is to note the position of the rotor arm after you've withdrawn the dizzy from the engine, and make sure the rotor arm is in the same position before you start to reinsert it.Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
