S3/S4/V8 DASH

Guys

Need some advice re: dashboard set up for later style dash.

Is the mock wood piece simply pulled out, as mine is a loosely held in bit of aluminium with a deteriorated veneer on it. Is it a simple case of pull this out and re-do the veneer or is this usually attached to the complete dashboard.

Apologies for the idiot question, but im new to this type of S having recently changed from an S2

Any guidance would be appreciated

There is a guide on S3 dashboard removal and renovation or you could send the removed panel to be re-veneered at http://www.london-carriage-craft.com who seem to have a good reputation

ETA: Oh... this view shows a S3 layout. As you can see you will have to remove the Back plates from the Heater Controls.The nuts retaining the dashboard panel should be 10mm.I have done a few of these now . Top Tip drop the Steering Column.

i had mine done at chapman and cliff ,great service and not to expensive

More top tips - 1. remove the driver's seat 2. make a cradle to support the steering column so you don't damage the bearing in the bulkhead. 3. you might also want to invest in some cheap seat covers to protect the seats.
