Could any body tell me how the chrome trim on the quarter bumpers is attached, I’m looking to add on to my S1 if easy and cheap.

I haven’t the foggiest idea yet.I was hoping somebody was going to say it came off a Ford Escort and take a trip to the local scrap yard.

OOhh doubt it, I expect it was a custom TVR part.. I thought about changing mine but then decided that the car looked better without... I think (IMHO) it breaks up the cohesion of the front of the car... although thats only on my dark blue one.. on a car with a bright colour it would work better..

It is held on by double sided foam tape (as you use for number plates), I got mine from TVR, this way you get it with the tape attached. There is a groove above the bumper it sits in on the S2 onwards, the S1 doesn't have this groove but I guess you could fit it, it will just stand proud

I thought the groove on the S1 was the bit with the smaller Rubber over-rider in it.. I assumed you swapped them round...
.. I wasn't aware TVR did any body/bonnet mods from S1 to S2..

Cheers
Matt..

M@H, on your bonnet you should have a large black rubber quarter bumper, right above this should be smooth GRP with no groove, it should also be the same on the back??

Nope fraid not Lee!!

I have the big black quarter rubber, then above that, another rubber strip set into a groove about 10mm wide running the length of the quarter bumper.. and before you ask, yes it should be there, its all part of the bonnet mould

PS.. The back is just the one piece, but have a look at my profile pic of the car and you will see the rubber over-riders...

Aha so you have an S2 or later bonnet then, maybe it was replaced at some point or just TVR playing about again??.This could mean you have an S1.7
