Long Trip to Spain

Hi again,

In 3 weeks Im travelling all way down to Spain with my S2. I did not have any issues with the car at all but never had to drive such a long distance with the car. Trevor doesnt get hoy while driving by in traficc jumps, slow moving periods gets hotter and fun kicks in. I have the override button installed so Im not worry to much about heating but as I read in the forum some of you travel quite a lot with your TVRs so I was wondering if you could advice on what should I check before hitting the road.

Just the usual stuff, oil water brake and clutch fluid and tyre pressures. check condition of fan belt and a general look around under the bonnet for anything that looks like it could break/fall off/ split/burst etc.

I think my car has only water in the cooling system, can I add cooling liquid in? 50/50? 100% cooling liquid?

Its quite hot in Spain now and dont want to risk overheating.

As the hood will be down all the way.... May I suggest a rain hat and sun block... Based on personal experience.

Although it is called "Antifreeze" and reduces the freezing point of the coolant mixture, it is also "Anti-Boil", as it raises the boiling point too. It also usually includes a corrosion inhibitor.

1:1 (50/50) mixture is about right, but read the packaging for guidance.

I took my S2 on one of the TVR owners tours of Spain and Portugal. It's what the cars were made for.
The only problem I had was a blowing exhaust downpipe, but it didn't spoil the fun.

Do you mean anti-freeze/corrosion inhibitor or something like "Water Wetter" that claims to make cooling more efficient?

If anti-freeze don't over do it,certainly not 100%.
Anti-freeze does not transfer heat as well as water, I'd go no more than 70% water 30% anti-freeze

Thank you very much guys. I'll apply the 50/50 mix of anti-freeze xD.

I dont really want to have any issues during my drive. My cousin will be very dissapointed if I dont get on time for his wedding xD.

Finally I took the car to the garage, to have a full check to the engine and have the alarm installed.

It had a small leak, so hopefully they will fix it on time before my departure.

Trevos is gonna see sunny days and sadly will never go back to UK xD.
