Exhaust manifold to head gaskets.

Hi All,

Im thinking of removing my exhaust manifolds to do some work on the chassis rails in the engine bay. At the same time I was thinking of painting my rusty down pipes. Does anybody know the part numbers for the exhaust to cylinder head gaskets??? Some good news my S2 passes it's MOT with no advisories, thanks to help and advice from guys on this forum. these are what you want (imho)

Far superior to the more readily available items just punched out of a bit of gasket material.Same as original Ford items except the Ford ones (not sure if still available?) are joined together into a single gasket each side, guess it could make fitting a little easier?

I replaced one of mine a back in April this year. I got mine from the local Ford Dealers. The part number is 'F6 653 140', are supplied as a complete single manifold gasket and cost me £6:73 plus VAT. They are the same for both sides.

It was very simple to replace and the engine now runs with no leaks .

Thanks for the replies. Do I need to use some exhaust sealing paste, It looks like mine have paste as some has oozed out and hardened!

No, but make sure you get all that old stuff off and a smear of "Coppaslip" on the bolts
