Anyone got their car insured on a modern policy?

I currently have the V8S on a classic policy. I also have 7 years no claims discount that I accrued from a modern car that I sold 2 years ago. Now if I do not switch the S to a modern policy this year (to maintain the NCD) the NCD accrued on the modern will die. Once I have had a modern policy for a year I can then switch the S to a classic policy for another 2 years, etc, etc.

So what I need to know is does anyone have any recommendations for Insurance companies for modern policies?

got our modern car with Daimler Insurance, underwritten by Aviva. We also have my chim 500 with them as a separate policy. Had 2 split fault claims (aren't they all these days ?) last year and I've got 6 points.

Very happy with the premium in light of the above and it was obvious that Aviva (at least back in May/June) were aggressively chasing market share. Same with our buildings and contents - it's all with Aviva now !

Try Admiral, they have recently started doing classic insurance which uses and maintains your no claims. As far as I can tell it is identical to a mainstream policy except that you are required to submit a description of condition and 5 photo's for an agreed valuation.
My S3 is covered for social, domestic, and pleasure and includes commuting. Also includes driving of cars not owned by policy holder. Its kept on the drive and limited to 5000 a year. Cost for me (50+) and wifey is £180 + £10 valuation fee with full no claims.

Rob.

Just insured VW Jetta 2.0TDI; SMax - 2.0TDCI and TVR S (V6) for £1000 with Adrian Flux......bargain in my opinion.

Cheers,

Chris

Yes I have had one of these before, whilst they hold it on record, the ncd expires after 2 years.
