Simple question, were immobilisers fitted as standard to our cars by TVR (mine's an S3)?

When I bought mine it had one where you insert a plug thing into a little hole on the steering column, pull it out then it will start. Since been replaced with one that picks up a signal from the key fob automatically.

"Transponder", that's the word I'm looking for !

Mine has the same (1990 S3c)it was made by a company called 'GEMINI'(I have the sales literature somewhere), no longer operational and positioned down near the gear stick on one of the raised side sections of the transmission cover.

I always assumed it was a dealer fit option along with different steering wheels and gearknobs. Who knows.

My 1991 S3 has the same thing. Also has a remote fob for the alarm - but as that has a mind of its own, I don't use it...

Mines got it (S2) - and note quite a few have. Like a small pen thing which push into the lit receiver. Fully functional
