I meet the insurance assessor today to look over the damage to the car and its a total loss, but my insurance states i have the right to retain the vehicle in the event of a total loss so i might buy it back for spares or to sale on depending on £ only had the car 6 months im gutted nige.

When I saw your photos in the previous thread I was afraid this might be the outcome. Very sorry for you, I know I would feel gutted if it where me.
I wish you luck in your hunt for another and hope it won't take too long.
If you want another pair of eyes when you go looking for a replacement pm me as I'm in the Bristol area and could give a second opinion.

As I came very close to losing mine a couple of months ago I know how you fee and sympathise. Surface & Design put mine back together for me, an amazing job! Is the chassis completely beyond repair? Every thing is possible but obviously it depends on how much the insurers will pay out. Good luck with which ever route you go down.
Don’t you just hate it whan that happens! It’s never a good thing to see any car in this way, let alone a TVR. You must be completely gutted, I know I would be.
If it’s any consellation, if you buy the car back from the insurance company, somebody will buy it and make use of it. I bought a total loss S3C last year and have been using the good bits to rebuild my S2.
You’d also make a not unreasonable amount if you stripped it yourself and sold the parts.
Would I be right in thinking that if it’s a total loss, it cannot be returned to the road at all? It’s a real shame because by the look of it there doesn’t appear to be a vast amount of work required to put it straight. If you’re reasonably proficient at spannering, the chassis isn’t too badly bent and you can get some second hand parts, it shouldn’t be too difficult to fix.
I’m also in the Bristol / Bath area, so if you are looking for another S series and need a second / third opinion, PM me. If you decide to keep the car and use it for track days etc drop me a line, I might be able to help on the spares side since I’ve recently stripped one.

Sorry to hear it's been written off. What catagory have they given it? I agree with others on here, it shouldn't be too difficult to fix and so long as you're keeping it to drive rather than as an investment to sell, then repairing it is possible - whilst taking a hit on it's future value. What are the insurers offering you and then how much do they want to buy it back?

Sorry to hear about this. My 1991 S2 was written off by the insurance company earlier this year. For insurers to replace a bonnet costs them the thick end of £3,000.
For reference I was able to buy it back from the insurers for £1,050. I don't know if a later S3 would cost you more to buy back?
Fortunately Norman was then able to repair the vehicle and keep it on the road.
