s1 idling speed

i have just become the proud owner of an s1 but am having problems with the idling speed, i have it set so it starts first time and then warms up to around 15 on the rev dial but it stays there until i switch of the engine and start it up again and it settles at ten which is better. If i alter the little screw on top of the engine block so it starts and stays at ten then when i switch of for petrol for example it will then then be idling too slow and stalls at junctions and traffic lights.Does anyone have any ideas?

i get this now and then try lubricating the mechanism this helps i think
it should tick over at about 800 ish and check all in inlet hoses for
leaks as that will make a bid differences to the running of the car

what mechanism should i lubricate barry?sorry for being a bit clueless but engines are not my strong point yet!

the part that you adjust on the engine block i find it gets dry and a bit sticky
some times worth a try WD 40 is good for the job don't do it when the engine
is hot or running or it could catch fire and you don't want to happen

Hi Lee< might not be idling speed problem, check what has been said so far but if not try disconnecting the hot start circuit.I never use mine as it causes more problems than they solve.
