But only on headlight alignment, horn not working and hazards not working!!

Hopefully I can jiggle some wires tonight and get them going again as I was hoping to drive down to London on the weekend in it

Headlight alignment is easy provided the screws are not seized up.
Undo the screw under the bottom of the chrome headlight surround and remove it and you'll see them.
The easiest way is to persuade your MOT tester to adjust it while its parked in front of the beam checker.
To make life easy I'd take it to the MOT station with the headlight surrounds removed.

Horn and hazards sounds like it could be the same fuse (powered without ignition on circuit) - I don't have the info to hand.

Dam it- my jiggling has done more harm than good....I have now lost the indicators!!

My clock still seems to work too so thinking it's not the fuse for the hazards or horn, will investigate properly tomorrow

Maybe some dodgey connections onto the switches on the steering column ?

As above. There is a terminal block which clips into a plug the steering column and it works loose very easily.

very annoying, I can get the indicators working but only if the hazards switch is on, but the hazards dont work either on or off, and still no horn. The interior light and clock all work fine!!

I had a similar problem a few months ago. (my hazard lights would only work with the indicator on) In my case it proved to be poor continuity in the connector located just in front of the nearside front wheel. mainly the negative return where the two black cables connect to the one pin (though all the connections showed a high resistance).
Connector replaced with a "Choccy Block" and wrapped in self amalgamating tape solved the problem for me. Can't be sure that your problem is the same but it might be worth a look

If indicators on one side work but not the other then it could well be the big connector by the bonnet hinge. But If the horn is not working as well as the indicators on both sides then that (IMHO) points to the connector on the steering column, at least as a starting point. Remove the top part of the column cover to check. I had a similar problem when I was sorting out my dash earlier in the year.

dropped the car off at an auto electricians in the way back from work last night so hopefully he will be able to sort the problem today, retest tomorrow then roar down to London on Saturday morning
