As this is a misunderstanding, has anyone from PH contacted Alan to let him know that his post will be reinstated? Seems a shame to loose a contributor to the forum for no real reason. You can either re-post or I'll get the thread reinstated tomorrow.

I can see how some would get confused.. perhaps it wasn't the deletion of the post that turned Alan off but the way it was dealt with..?
Consistency is the key here IMHO.. I for one can't see much of that.

We can't possibly read ever thread on PH there are far too many, consistency is a priority within the moderation team.

Well my posting has also been removed although I recognise that it was a clear breach of guidelines.
What's worthy of discussion though, is whether it actually matters that people post topics selling items that may be of genuine interest and benefit to other owners.
I recently bought a Porsche 968 as a track day toy with a friend. They have their own website and forum, with dozens of different boards depending on subject and including items for sale and cars for sale.
Shame us 'S' owners don't have a similar resource available to us.

We must delete about 30 forums ads a day on average most are never seen because members report them and we instantly remove and point towards classifieds.
The irony is that you can post ads on PH for free in the classifieds, you just can't do it on on forums.
If we didn't enforce this rule the forums would be swamped with ads and that's not what we want, the forums are for discussion and debate.

Just remember if it's free post away, if it's not then the classified which is also free.
