EXHAUST MANIFOLD S3C

Having just fitted my recored rad and new silicone hoses, stainless coolant pipes and a new s/s swirlpot and bulk head bearing, upper and lower ujs on the steering cleaned up the engine bay i thought job done, but then i noticed a leak on the manifold were the bolt is,it seems to have rusted through the bolt and its leaking would it be ok to cut the bolt off and weld it up as im not sure nige.

I have never understood what that those bolt/stud things are for, I say get rid of it and weld the hole up.

I was going to say the same, but was waiting to see if anybody knew why it's there!

On my s3c , I cut them of and welded the holes.
What was the purpose of these bolts ??

im not sure why they are there either so out with mig welder then cheers lads nige.
