It's all about patience for these shots. Here's one I got with the MP-E65mm:
It looks like this is coming in to land on the flower, in fact it was the opposite. The hoverfly had already "done it's stuff" on the flower and was flying off to the next one. It certainly wasn't an easy shot to get with the mp-e, and I probably took 2-3 to get this. Something like the 100mm would have produced better results as the mp-e can't get much in frame (even at 1:1).
