YN-468 for 400D reviews please

Thinking of buying the above, are they good?
I would welcome comments from those with more experience/skill than me.

I've recently bought a YN460 (same family of flashes but manual only controls for off camera use). Overall build quality and light output is fine for the price - my only major issue with it is the recharge time is significantly slower than an SB800 or 900. For my usage (3rd flash) I can live with the slow recharge but if it was your only flash then YMMV.

Having said that, I have a friend who bought a YN467 for his D90 and he seems happy with it. As long you understand there's a reason why the OEM flash is 4x the price and go in with your expectations set accordingly you should be fine.

I started off with the Canon 430EX II falsh on my 500D and bought the YN-468 shortly after.
So far, I've only used the YN-468 off camera in manual mode using it's inbuilt optical trigger to fire in response to my other flash.
I've not used it enough to give a full review as such, but the build quality is good and it feels more solid than I was expecting.
With hindsight, for me as a beginner, I should have got a couple of these first along with remote triggers, light stand and umbrella all for less than I paid for the Canon flash. It's not quite 'as good', but at 1/3 the price it's much better value. If in future you do get another (better) flash you can set this as a slave for more interesting lighting effects.

PS, I have a YN-460-II and a YN465, they are cheap and do what I need them for, they are not to be compared with the Canon or Nikon OEM strobes.
