The 200 - 400 with built in 1.4x sounds superb, but I'm guessing it will have a price to match!

600D does not seem to be much of an improvement over the 550D

Variable screen and a bit more beginner friendly.

Any guesses of when the 8D will be out? Thats my next camera I think.

This will probably become the long lens that i aspire too. Although if its as much as that over the Nikon lens it will probably always be an aspiration. Really would be ideal for me though.

Also mention of maybe a new 400 f5.6 IS. The day after I finally stump up for a standard 400 f5.6...doh!

Oh well, adding IS will probably also add £300 to the price too, so I can't complain.

I'd take a bet that the price differential will be more than £300. Most recent announcements of new designs seem to have added about 50% to the RRP.

I've not long bought a 400/5.6 too, but I know the IS mkII thingey will be a lot of money.

I myself have recently bought a 550D...

If anything see it as a benefit to possibly push older lenses down in price a bit, maybe.

Oh, man, do I really have to explain this? On a 200+ lense, fine, IS certainly helps to get THAT shot in with less trouble, but on a 70???

Seriously, I cannot think of a situation with my 5D Mark II where I will need an IS on a 24-70 2.8L

agreed, that's why i got the 70-200 2.8L sans IS - just take more shots
