Camera resolutions

On my bullet cam I'm trying to use the best settings possible. Not bothered about memory as I have a 32gb card.
The resolutions are
D1
720x480
640x480
320x240
I'm guessing 720x480 is the best? No idea what D1 is though, could be better or worse?
Btw it's a dogcam dvr3 with sony bullet cam.

D1 PAL 720x576 25fps is yer proper 4:3 TV resolution (well it was until they all went 16:9 and HD!!)
