Offered 2nd hand Lumix TZ3 - new alternatives around £80-100

Off skiing in March, and my main regret last year was I barely took any photos as I didn't like carting about a camera bag etc. I also do a lot of mountainbiking/walking so looking for a compact to stick in my coat pocket/car glovebox for snapping.
The Lumix TZ3 looks good from what I can read, been offered one in good nick for well < £100.
Before I commit - any new alternatives that might cut the mustard? Even though the TZ3 is a few years old I'm not sure if the quality might have trickled down that far yet on new stuff?
I'd like a lens that will drop to a nice wide angle (<30mm equiv?) where possible, easy to handle and use, and half decent colours/speed.
Stick with the 2nd hand Panasonic, or have you any ideas?
