Goodbye Kodachrome

One of the big jobs for me in 2011 is to go through thousands of slides, a lot of them Kodachrome, taken in the 1970's and pull out some decent prints from them.

I haven't shot any transparencies in years but it always felt a bit special when I got my Kodachrome slides back from processing.

I've had can containing a roll of Kodachrome 8mm movie film lying around for about 40 years in my 'man drawer' (along with used batteries,
keys for properties I no longer own, slide rule, blunt Stanley knife blades, instructions and warranties for items I threw out
in the 1980s etc. etc.) and so a few weeks ago I sent it to Dwayne's Photo in Kansas with the instruction that if it was unexposed,they should just junk it.

What excitement ...... I got it back from them ...... what would be on it ????????

I still don't know; as enclosed was a note saying that it was Kodachrome II and that they couldn't process it .
