Witterings? Hmm, at a pinch, sometimes, maybe. But foolishness? Never!
Which is sort of a shame in some ways 'cos it's often a nice warm (and totally false) feeling to be able to sit back at the end of web connection and chuckle about questions that some (perceived) prat is asking or opinions that someone who knows nothing is expounding. (I often do it myself only to find I am inadvertently reading my own posts.)
Of course in this case neither description was appropriate. Hence the shame. I mean - where is the entertainment value in that? No entertainment? That's a shame ....
On the other hand we only have dd's assertion (that this is the 'first birthday') to go with. Such information could, of course, be misleading. I mean if David Bailey decided that he could build a new reputation by mumming as a photographer of woodland park scenes, Christmas decoration constructions or macro shots - rather than erotic models - would he do it under his own name? Personally I doubt it.
(Disclaimer: Obviously dd is NOT David Bailey. We know this because he uses Canon kit whereas Bailey, for those old enough who still have good memories will recall, used Olympus - whoever they were.
Also Bailey would surely have been monikered 'db' for marketing purposes.)
Anyway, 'dd' or 'db' - who cares? Long may Mr. Dobbler's gentle questioning prise useful information from the denizens of this forum just as it has for the past year.

Thanks LQ. It's not the done thing to be too fullsome in expressing one's gratitude or admiration on these forums - but it's Christmas so I might get away with it - you and the other regulars on here have been responsible for getting me interested in photography in the first place and then educating and inspiring me in equal measure. Thanks again and roll on another year of the same
