reccommend me a 35mm negative/ slide scanner

can anyone reccommend a scanner for converting old 35mm slides/negatives into JPEGs

I was impressed by this when a customer showed me the results. Also it can be ran stand alone straight to a sd card.

Thanks but that looks supiciously like a Veho VFS008. I think Veho and Summit are made by the same co. I had a Veho 004 and it was atrocious - software/driver problems meant it hardly ever worked - i sent it back . I wouldn't touch their stuff again

I would say it has changed, this customer hs only just changed from film and doesnt have a computor. They sem very easy. and the results would match our pro fuji setup to the untrained eye.

I tried a Canoscan 700F and wasnt overly impressed with the quality. Replaced it with a Plustek one which was much better

It's absolute rubbish; mediocre at best - look a bit closer!

The last thing I tried with 'Photofix' on it vignetted so obscenely that it went straight on eBay. So I hope they've improved it.

I've got one of those, an Opticfilm 7200, which I bought around three years ago. I could never get the bloody thing to work properly until I tried it with a new pc recently, works perfectly now I'm still getting to grips with the software but results so far look promising.

A Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 works for me. It's a couple of years old now so probably superseded. I had a small problem when upgrading to a 64bit OS in that Nikon didn't support the upgrade. However, there is a workaround on the web if you need it.

RGB LED rather than white light gives good colour reproduction. And although I bought the separate slide feeder, it doesn't work well with cardboard mounts,and I wouldn't bother next time.
