Sony TX5 - Lumix FT2 (for snow, who wins)

So I cant carry my slr everywhere & I spend a lot of time in the snow, hence why im looking at these two cameras.

What I want to achive is a camera that will hold its own in the cold and the battery not die after 2 hours due to the weather & to be able to pull from pocket, point & shoot. Video to would be good as I like to record a bit!

So does anyone own any of these of better yet own both of them and can recommend the better fo the two.

I am drawn to the TX5 on looks and I like the panoramic feature, but the FT2 looks like it's more rugged for my use.

Any help greatly appriciated.

I know nothing of the two cameras you mention or why you have narrowed your choice to just those two, but Pentax makes the Optio W90, which is waterproof to 6m, shockproof to 1.2m, coldproof to -10°C.

I should add as well that I've never used said camera, so this is certainly not a recommendation!

It's very unlikely that somebody will have BOTH, what would be the point?

I can recommend TF2, I have it for six months now, haven't taken it anywhere cold though...

Optio W90, never noticed this one in my seaches, just having a look now to find out how much shutter lag there is, or not! Only twinge I have has with cameras is the 1sec delay from taking the photo to the camera doing it's thing!

rottie hows the tf2 working out for action shots & are the images still fairly good quality when looked at in high res?
