I thought the EPL had all imaging rights for games,anyway looks like you had fun (eventually assuming you support united that is!)

definitely, don't think I would've stayed long if it'd been bad, stuck a couple pics of on my FlickR the sunshine certainly helped.

I've been to Old Trafford a couple of times - first was without my camera, the second time was with it...

But when entering through the turnstiles, the stewards asked me to leave my camera equipment in my car - they did a bag search to see what I was carrying, in this case my bag had EOS 40D, 70-200 F2.8L IS, and 18-55mm kit lens - as soon as he saw the 70-200mm he said "I can't let you in with that, you'll have to leave it in the car".

Anyway, after I asked him if I could take it in, but leave it in the bag he let me in - but warned me if I was caught on cctv or by a steward and I was using it, i'd be ejected from stadium......needless to say I didn't take the risk and it stayed in my bag all the time.

The match in question was Ole Solksjaer's testimonial match.

I think they only object to telephoto lenses, but was a bit disappointed as I didn't know the rules until it was too late

All league games are covered under Dataco image rights. They're pretty aggressive when it comes to protecting those rights. I shoot loads of non league games. It's an awful lot easier to deal with.
