I would really like to trade up from an Eos 5d (mark i) to the mark ii.
Where is going to be the best place to do this??
My first port of call in the past would have been jessops, but they seem to have stopped doing trade-ins...although I've heard on the grapevine that made a store or two in London still do??

Sell privately on one of the forums, buy the Mk 2 after checking www.camerapricebuster.com to find the cheapest supplier.

bought my 40D and couple of lenses from Matt at MPB also will buy outright if you find what you want elsewhere and offered the most for my bits, also Mifsuds take p/ex too and London Camera Exchange (got my extender from there yesterday) very nice and helpful chaps there too also do p/ex

With Gumtree you deal face to face with someone so I just felt more comfortable with that.
It's usually taken 2-4 weeks but I've always managed to sell for a reasonable price. I usually ask for about 30-50 gbp more than my minimum sell price which gives me room to haggle with a buyer. It's free to post an add so no harm in giving it a shot. Just bear in mind you may need to repost your add once or twice a week as it eventually moves down the list.
