Well I've decided my £50 8mp camera is awful, and for college work a decent camera will definitely help.

I don't know anything about photography, lenses, flashes and all that, but it's something I'd like to get into.

I'd rather go 2nd hand and get something better than something new for the same money.

What can I get for £250? I'd be willing to go up to £300, but it must be significantly better than what I could get for £250.

Any suggestions please, and are there any decent 2nd hand photography sites?
