I've impressed myself recently with some of the pictures I've taken/processed.

It's nice to have them on my Flickr, phone, computer etc but does anyone actually print their own pictures and put them on the wall?

I have a lot of blank wallspace and if i go to Uni I'll need something on the wall of my room..

Who's good for printing, I'd like to have a canvas/card print.. Quite large too?

Alot of them seem to have predetermined sizes, if I send them an odd shaped picture.. Will they print it, and trim the excess? Or do I have to change the image myself?

So far I've only printed at standard (3:2) aspect ratios but I *think* you need to use a PS to create an image that corresponds with the print size which will then feature a white border for you to trim - fairly sure this in in the FAQ on DSCL website

An option if printing at home is to get some Lyson or Hahnemuhle fine art paper. A bit pricey, but the results can be stunning when framed and hung on a wall.

Print and frame. Print on a 44" printer on silk, fine art papers and different canvases and then post printing varnishing. Can't for the life of me do the stretching - no patience for it.

I have had one printed on canvas for my father as a birthday present.
I haven't printed any others though, most aren't good enough! wink
Saying that, I do have a few I would like to get printed but I don't have anywhere to put them!

Drop me a line if you'd like some large canvasses done - I've done heaps of work for fellow PHers over the years.

If we find a picture that's genuinely worth hanging on the wall we use www.photobox.com

I've given up printing at home. The ink is expensive, the paper is expensive and by the time I get around to doing the next picture the damn cartidges have seized up and I need new ones which makes the ink VERY expensive.

Photobox all the way...

If it's just a couple of prints I will generally do them myself, for larger runs it's Photobox, and for any canvases it's Tim at Fluidimages (Roadrunner3 above).
