Near death experience?

When using my 5D the other day I had a funny experience with the LCD. All of a sudden the screen was showing shots as if they were posterised. I was crapping myself that it was recording the shots as such but convinced myself that when I had been chimping previously the shots I had taken were OK. Without notice or reason the screen returned to normal and thankfully all the shots were fine.

Could this have been the very hot weather? Do you think I have a bad connection to the LCD? Is my 5D about to give up the ghost?

It has suffered a tirade of abuse for about 4 years and 90000 shots. I have been resisiting but a MkII may need to be sought out.

Strange. Was the LCD in full sun for a while?

I've seen a 400D fail to show anything on the rear LCD due to the heat. Twenty minutes later and the whole thing had stopped taking photographs. Having said that it was 45 Deg C and had been for a couple of hours. Luckily my mate had a backup which hadn't packed up.

Probably just down to the heat.

Had you gone from one extreme to another? For instance an A/C'd room to outdoors?
